Not all hooks can be Hand-sharpened to be extremely sharp due to hardness of hook .
These hooks are made of alloy steel which the hardness is higher than common carbon steel.
Strong shank and feature a micro barb which won't hinder penetration, but once in, will ensure that the hook stays in place.
The points are protected by a blob of wax which needs to be carefully removed before use.
